EU condemns alleged Houthi strikes on Mecca The EU voiced its "full solidarity" with Saudi Arabia on Thursday as it condemned recent strikes on the kingdom by Yemen's Houthis, including an attempted attack on Islam's holy city of Mecca, which the Houthis have denied carrying out. "We urge the Houthis to cease all military action," EU Foreign Affairs spokesperson Anouar El Anouni said in a statement, adding that "the targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure is unacceptable."
