Maha Al-Daya, the Gaza embroiderer who resists with needle and thread

Now a refugee in France, Maha Al-Daya fled the bombings that have been striking the Palestinian enclave since October 2023. To preserve the experiences of Gaza's people, she uses an ancient embroidery technique to recreate the evacuation maps dropped by the Israeli army. It is an act of resistance and resilience, stitching the memory of her homeland into fabric.
