Erdogan says Turkey aims to sign energy cooperation deal with Iraq Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday that Turkey aims to sign a comprehensive energy cooperation deal with Iraq as soon as possible, adding that Iraq had offered to provide the country with one million barrels of oil. This comes after talks between Erdogan and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi in Ankara took place amid concerns about global energy shortages resulting from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
