European lawmaker calls for joint EU defense to reduce reliance on US

Tehran, IRNA – Manfred Weber, chairman of the European People’s Party (EPP) Group in the European Parliament, has called on the European members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to establish joint European defense structures while remaining within the alliance in a bid to reduce their dependence on the United States.
