Algerians head to polls to elect new parliament

Algeria is holding parliamentary elections on July 2, seven years after the pro-democracy Hirak protests. But turnout is expected to be low. After the protests, only 23% of voters showed up to the polls, with many refusing to vote to show discontent with the political offer and several opposition parties boycotting the election.
