Imam Hossein mourning ceremony held on eve of Ashura

The mausoleum of the late Imam Khomeini near Tehran hosted a mourning ceremony on Wednesday evening to mark the eve of Ashura, commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hossein (PBUH), and his 72 companions, who were martyred in the Battle of Karbala more than 14 centuries ago. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, senior government officials, and mourners attended the ceremony.
