In photos: Hosseini Infants Gathering held in Iran’s Bandar Abbas

Coinciding with the first Friday of Muharram, thousands of mothers carrying their infants gathered at the Martyrs' Cemetery in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, on June 19, 2026, to take part in the annual Hosseini Infants Gathering. Held simultaneously across the country, the ceremony commemorates Ali al-Asghar, the six-month-old son of Imam Hossein, who was killed during the Battle of Karbala.
