The Euphrates River flood of May 2026 caused widespread agricultural devastation across the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor, Syria, affecting farming communities that had been gradually recovering from years of conflict. Based on the latest figures from the Directorate of Agriculture (DoA), nearly 20,500 dunumus have been affected by the floods (Annex 1).
