The conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, which began in October 2023 and escalated sharply in September 2024, entered a new phase in early 2026. Although a ceasefire came into effect on 27 November 2024, violations continued almost daily, with Israeli airstrikes and continued occupation of five positions in southern Lebanon preventing reconstruction and the return of displaced communities.
