This statement by Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, secretary of Iran’s SNSC and a longtime figure associated with the traditional IRGC-security establishment, is quite interesting in my opinion. At first reading what stands out is that diplomacy is not presented as an alternative to the “resistance” line, but as a continuation of it. The statement repeatedly argues that Iran resisted pressure, pushed the enemy back, and is now approaching “final victory” (an agreement I guess).
