This is the direct outcome of a campaign that lacked coherent strategic planning — one that relied on an overestimation of airpower and a dangerous underestimation of Iran’s military capabilities and leadership. While there have undoubtedly been operational achievements, the broader strategic reality vis-à-vis Iran is far from improved — and may, in fact, be worse than it was before the conflict. The Strait of Hormuz is a clear example.
