Pakistan and Afghanistan announce pause in conflict for Eid al-Fitr

In separate statements, authorities in Islamabad and Kabul said they would respect a halt in increasingly deadly fighting following a request from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, who sought a truce for the end of Ramadan.
