As from my previous analysis (below), if reports of Larijani’s killing are confirmed, and caution is needed given past false alarms, this would remove one of the figures most associated with strategic restraint within the system. In practical terms, it weakens the camp more open to managing or eventually closing the conflict, and shifts weight further toward the harder-line actors around Mojtaba. The balance inside the inner circle changes, and the floor is now increasingly held by the more intransigent voices.
