Oil prices climb as Israeli-US war raises supply fears Oil prices rose on Sunday as the Israeli-US war in the Middle East fuelled concerns about disruptions to global energy supplies. Shortly after trading opened on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, US benchmark West Texas Intermediate climbed 2.54 percent to $101.22 a barrel. Brent crude, the international benchmark, also surged, gaining 2.88 percent to reach $106.11.
